Joe Root breaks Sachin Tendulkar's record, becomes the batsman with most fifties in Tests

England Test captain and star batter Joe Root has broken a major Test record held by Sachin Tendulkar. In the fourth innings of the third Test against Pakistan in Birmingham, Root scored an unbeaten 62 runs, including 9 fours.

With this innings, Root became the batter with the most half-centuries in Test cricket.

Root Completes 69th Test Half-Century

Joe Root completed his 69th Test half-century with his unbeaten 62-run knock against Pakistan. Sachin Tendulkar had finished his Test career with 68 half-centuries.

West Indies great Shivnarine Chanderpaul has now moved to third place with 66 Test half-centuries.
